Project Overview:

After many students passed through its halls, the Morgan Hall rooms were in need of “freshening up.” Looking to modernize 25 double bedrooms, toilet rooms, laundry rooms, Resident Director rooms, and lounges. The NKB team provided complete architectural and engineering services to upgrade the residence hall for students.

Unique tasks focused on revamping the space included: providing separation between dorm rooms and offices, securing office areas to prevent unwanted student access, verifying proper egress, fire, and smoke separation, verifying existing fire and smoke alarm systems, improving ventilation in bathrooms and showers, providing new lighting, providing utilities for additional laundry room equipment, and providing data, phone, and television in each dorm room.

Many new spaces were also needed within the building including: a Resident Advisor room, Resident Director suite space, multiple lounge spaces, and space for vending machines.

Students in Morgan Hall now have a safer, more functional, and renewed dormitory.

NKB provided the complete scope of renovations by way of maintaining as much of the existing building fabric as possible.
